Too Precious Not to Share

Well by now you all that I work hard on being a Bible in action mom. Today my oldest was baking for is teen group and because he was running late. We all pitched him to help him. After the goodies were done, and he was on his way my Wild Child wanted to eat some of the left over cookies.

Looking at all the available cookies he decided on eating the largest one. I suggested he leave it for his brother who had made them and might not get any of the cookies.

He proudly claimed the largest cookie and took a big bite. His face went from cheery and bright to sour in a flash as he spit the mouthful into the trash. Immediately, I was reminded of Jesus' lesson about the banquet and was inspired to share it with him.

And the bible passage reads:

Luke 14:7-11
7 When he noticed how the guests picked the places of honor at the table, he told them this parable: 8 “When someone invites you to a wedding feast, do not take the place of honor, for a person more distinguished than you may have been invited. 9 If so, the host who invited both of you will come and say to you, ‘Give this person your seat.’ Then, humiliated, you will have to take the least important place. 10 But when you are invited, take the lowest place, so that when your host comes, he will say to you, ‘Friend, move up to a better place.’ Then you will be honored in the presence of all the other guests. 11 For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”

The message was when we try to get what we perceive to be the best for ourselves sometimes we end up with a mouth filled with raw cookie dough.

We are to seize every opportunity to teach and share the Word naturally with our children. I am thankful that God continues to answer my prayer to clearly show me these teaching moments.

What moments were you thankful for today, please share in the comments or link up @
