Being in a semi-vacation phase of life
makes a Monday planning post challenging. I am not sure these days where my
time will go. Like the Israelites in the desert we are waiting to be lead by
spirit.
The scripture on my heart as I head into
this week is Romans 8. These are my some favorite verses: 31 What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for
us, who can be against us?
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?
Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or
sword?
37 No, in all these things we are more than
conquerors through him who loved us.
38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life,
neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be
able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
This was my heart after hearing the
message at church yesterday. The message was about suffering being a part of
life. Everyone suffers and God never gives us more than we can handle. I
related to this because I have gone through some difficult health situations
and remember people using this scripture bring me comfort. I personally think
that Romans 8 is more comforting. According to Romans 8 my comfort is in God
who is always with me.
Luke 12:48
From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from
the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.
God has given me much and so we can in
times of struggle refer to Romans 8:
18 I consider that
our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be
revealed in us.
If you are facing a health or life crisis today, I hope you can find
as much comfort in Romans 8 as I have over the years.
