Thanking Him For The Twist

Today I choose to be thankful for our Princess Chewy. Yes! I am thankful for a hamster.  To us she is a wonderful pet and a perfect addition to our family.
The blessing here is that my super allergic kid has always wanted a pet and God provided him with the perfect pal. He wanted a pet he could take for walks and play with.

God provided us the perfect hamster in Princess Chewy. From day one, she never seemed to mind them playing with her. She loves living in their pockets and going out with them on their skateboards.

Now she seems to know when they enter the room and climbs to the top of the cage expecting to be taken out. I realized we have quite a remarkable hamster, which can never be replaced. I am also thankful that My Boys realized that God blessed them in the choosing of this pet.

Isaiah  45:7 God tells us
“I cause light to shine. I also create darkness.
I bring good times. I also create hard times.
I do all of those things. I am the Lord.”

Just a reminder, no matter what God creates we should be thankful. He created both super allergic kids and perfect pets.

Saying Goodbye

Wordless Wednesday

10 Noteworthy Sayings

Here are 10 quotes worthy of thought:
1. Life is about prospective. The grass is never greener on the other side, grass is grass.

2. How often do we do this? Instead of choosing to wait for what we really want, we just accept what is available at that moment. Live life with out regret. Wait for what you really want.

3. I remember being on a 16 hour flight and having my then 9 year old son start throwing up. It was not convenient, but I was grateful to the flight attendant who very nicely addressed the unkind remarks of the gentleman in our row. "He is just a sick child, you don't need to be unkind about it." He was just my sick baby very far from an emergency room and very sick.

4. How true is this? We invest a lot of time worrying about things that do not matter. Right now we are planning our move, or at least planning leaving our current home. Daily I think, I am trusting God to work out the details, He knows what our family needs.

5. Yes, Yes, Yes, there is always, always, always something to be thankful for. Even lesson learned are reasons to be thankful. Today I caught my first grasshopper. I was thankful I did it, I was also terrified. Not a bug friendly person, but I made my son's days. Yeah, Mom!

6. Truth be told, I am weird and proud of it but I like this quote. I am most definitely a limited edition. God made me an extra special limited edition.

7. Here is a good de-cluttering guide.

8. How easy it is to forget that un-forgiveness is a prison of our own making. Burn the past and set yourself free.

9.

10. Errors are learning opportunities.

I Love That

I love that My God created me with the freedom to choose.
Today I choose to brag about how awesome He is.

I love that God will fight for me, especially when I cannot fight for my self.

I love that God is always patient with me, no matter how often I mess up.

I love that God is the same today, tomorrow and yesterday.

Great Books

Sometimes I feel like the only person I know who finds reading history fascinating. It’s so full of amazing-yet-true stories of people driven to the edge and how they reacted to it. I keep telling friends that a good history book (as opposed to some of those textbooks in school that are all lists and dates) does everything a good novel does–it grips you with real characters doing amazing things.
Am I REALLY the only person who feels this way? When is the last time you read a history book? Historical biography? You know, something that took place in the past but was REAL.

Home-schooling mom here! I teach history through literature, these books are amazing. When you read a book about an event and it is written by someone who was there, from their perspective, the journey is amazing. I especially love reading Asian history books. I enjoy sharing these books with my children.

I Will Choose

By way of explaining, yesterday I saw this picture on the blogs although I had seen it many times before it got me thinking.

Today I will Choose ……………..

Wow we are free to choose. What a blessing it is to choose each day?

I will choose, love
I will choose, Laughter
I will choose, peace
I will choose, to find the beauty in all that I see

Is the list not endless?

I am thankful everyday for choice.
I am thankful I have a choice.
I am thankful that God gave his son, so I could have choice.

I will choose to follow Christ.
I will choose to accept the things I cannot change, knowing God Can.
I will choose to ask God for wisdom.
I will choose to live one day at a time.
I will choose to surrender to the will of God for my life.

I will choose to thank Him for my many choices and pray that he guides me home.

What will you choose today?

Feelin

Saturday 9: You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'

1. In a relationship, have you ever hung in even when you knew for sure it was over?
NO! It is always better to get out as soon as you know.

2. If you had the ability to perpetually alleviate any pain on your body, what would it be?
The pain in my head. I have really bad migraines, sometimes it seems like my head never stops hurting.

3. What place would you visit if money were no object?
I guess I would go around the world, spending a few months in every country. I could not pick one place and if money were no object I would not have too.

4. What is one thing you would love to change about yourself?
I love me, so there is not one thing about myself that I would change. Life is about learning and growing, which I am about doing.

5. Do you think your parents were too strict growing up?
No!

6. In general, how many old friends do you have that you talk to at least once a year?
Since we all joined Facebook?

7. What was the last compliment you received?
I honestly cannot think of one.

8. Have you ever told someone you loved them but didn't really mean it?
I take the words I say very seriously, so no.

9. In your opinion, would it be harder to lose someone close to you more as a child or harder as an adult?
I do not think it matters. It really depends on the depth of the relationship. I have lost people from both groups and it really depended on how close we were.
